Hello, my name is Kiyani. I am a product manager with +3 years of experience in the SaaS space.

I really like being a PM. That feeling of tackling customers’ problems and figuring out the best way to solve them, prioritizing different solutions to select the best feature to work on, collaborating with engineers and designers to shape the solution, the adrenaline mixed with the exhaustion of “launch day”, tracking and measuring how users receive our product, and, more importantly, being able to come back with my findings to the team so we can iterate on our solution because we all know how hard it is to get everything right from v0. I love the whole process.

It is cool to build solutions that improve people’s lives.

In the past years, I took the habit of writing down every lesson learned in my product role; how to best work with engineers, how to communicate my ideas to my peers vs. the execs, tips for working with a remote international team as a non-native English speaker, etc. At the request of my friends, I decided it would be nice to share them publicly.

In addition to the lessons that I’ll share, I’ll occasionally share my thoughts on clever products I’ve discovered in the wild and loved, my favorite books and articles, and anything else I think can be of interest to this audience!

An obvious disclaimer is that all these lessons are from my personal experience; therefore, they’re contextual. I’m sure that in a few years, I’ll revisit some of them and draw different conclusions. This is the beauty of the journey.
